Pysol III has a somewhat different focus than PySolFC. If you want to contribute to pysol development, you should check in at Sourceforge.

Pysol III is focused on presenting the user with easy installation, a smoother user interface, easier play and better documentation. For instance, PySolFC has rules for fewer than half of over 1000 games while Pysol III has rules for nearly every one of over 2400 games.

Well . . . some of the rules are not all that clear:

But here it is ready or not.

PySolFC cardsets: This file contains the same cardsets found in PySolFC-Cardsets-2.0.tar.bz2. Changes such as removing unneeded images and directories, creating missing images, updating incomplete information and converting image files to a usable format have been made.   These files are compatable with PySol and PySolFC when running on a Unix-like OS. cardsets.fc.tar.bz2 (27.0 Mb)   Open the file and copy the subdirectories into your pysol "data" directory. Pysol III has a number of minor changes that include: extensive rewrite of the html documentation use pysol -browse for html docs as an independent application friendlier dialog box placement fixes and rules for many of the PySolFC games one of each cardset type to play all included games six new game types: games that use the Japanese Mekuri, Unsun and Uta Karuta cards games that use the East European Skat deck games using double six and double nine dominoes games that use specialized regional decks trick taking games using various cardsets soothsaying (sic) games using Tarot cards or the I Ching and over 1200 new games for your edification and delight. Well... maybe just to while away those boring hours at work? Installation: Open the tarball: Copy the enclosed directory as pysol or pysoliii into: /usr/share /usr/games /usr/local/share /usr/local/games or: your home directory additional instructions can be found in "pysol/nukuadocs" in the base directory and data/html/pg03.html add a link or move "pysol/nukuadocs" to your search PATH. If pysol fails on startup, an attempt will be made to "fix things" but you will need to have write permission to the executable. The first time pysol starts, a .pysoliii subdirectory will be made in your home directory. This is the place to install any additional cardsets, music and image files you have.
