3 Backbone reserves, base rank any
8 Same suit rows, base rank any
    Waste talon, no redeals
    Waste

    Rules
    Similar to
Braid except that instead of a braid there are two columns of eleven reserve stacks between two sets of four foundations and two sets of four row stacks. There is also one reserve stack at the bottom center of the columns of reserves that must be moved before any of the rest of the reserves can be played. The foundations build up in suit from Ace, the rows build down in suit. Only one card can be moved at a time, foundation cards remain in play.

  8. Tableaux
    Braid
8 Braid foundations, base rank none
12 Braid rows, base rank any
    Waste talon, 2 redeals
    Waste

    Rules
This game is somewhat harder and requires thoughtful strategy.

The layout consist of a Braid of 20 cards, two groups of four helper stacks, four braid stacks (each showing a picture of a braid), the waste pile, and the eight foundations. The first card automatically dealt to a Foundation sets the beginning value for all foundations, and an indicator displays the value of that card.

You choose whether the sequences on the foundations will be ascending or descending, and your choice is displayed in an indicator. The choice is made when you place the first card on a foundation which is not the already-determined base card. It must follow suit and must have a numerical value of either one more or one less than the base card. Ace is considered one higher than King, and at the same time one less than Two.

You may place cards on the foundation from anywhere on the table, including the end of the Braid. The eight helper stacks can be filled from the waste pile but not from the Braid or the braid stacks. When you move a card from a braid stack to the foundation, that stack is automatically filled with the last card on the Braid itself.

In going through the talon, you are limited to three rounds, and an indicator reports on that status.
    Strategy
You can use the helper stacks to temporarily store cards you expect to use soon, and you can leave them open until the right card comes up from the Talon.

  9. Casket:

  10. Tableaux
8 Same suit foundations, base rank 1
    Jewels
    5 lid
3 Casket reserves, base rank any
8 Casket rows, base rank any
    Waste talon, no redeals
    Waste

    Rules
The layout consists of a waste talon and three reserves on the left, eight foundations on the right and the "Casket" in the center. The casket consists of five "lid" stacks, eight stacks as the casket and the "Jewels" in the center. The jewels can only be reached by removing a card from the lid. The lid cards can only be played to a higher ranked card of the same suit in the casket or to the foundations. The reserves will hold any number of cards.
  11. Fort:

  12. Tableaux
    Braid

12 Braid rows, base rank any
    Waste talon, 2 redeals

    4 reserves, base rank any
5 Same suit rows, base rank any
    Well talon, 4 redeals
    5 wastes

    Rules
The layout is the talon and five waste stacks at the top, a single row stack on the left and the "Well" on the lower right. The well consists of four reserves in the center surrounded by four foundations and four row stacks. Ten cards each are dealt to the reserves at game start and one each to the rows. The foundations build down in suit from King with wrap, the rows build up. The reserves can play to the rows or the foundations. The single row stack upper left builds up from an Ace in any suit. The talon deals to all five waste stacks on the first round then one less on each succeeding round. The foundations wrap from Ace to King.
    Strategy
Get the "Well" cards turned up soonest.
