    Strategy
    It's do-able, use foundation cards to build as many sequences as possible on the first deal.

    The tableaux consists of twelve foundations at the top that start with Ace and build up in suit, twelve row stacks below that build down in suit and a waste talon in the lower right corner. Empty rows are auto filled from the waste and the foundation cards remain in play. Any card will play to an empty row when the waste is empty.

    Forty cards are dealt to 10 piles. These piles are built down in suit. Only the top card of a pile is available for playing, and spaces can be filled by any card. Cards from the talon are turned over to the waste pile, one at a time. You can move the leftmost card to the playing piles or the foundations. There is no redeal.
    History
    Forty Thieves is a classic solitaire game that probably dates back to the nineteenth century. It is known by many names, such as Napoleon at St.Helena, Big Forty and Le Cadran.
