The top row consists of reserve stacks that can be played to either the rows or the foundations. Cards are dealt face down to each reserve at game start, only the top card on the left-most row is face up, and is the only reserve card in play. The foundations build up in suit starting with the Highest rank and wrapping to the lowest. The talon deals to the waste one card at a time. Foundation cards remain in play.

    The Chinese Zodiac runs through a twelve year cycle with each year assigned to an animal. The order of the cycle is:

    There are also five elemental signs of: Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth assigned to each animal making a sixty year cycle. !900 was a year of the Metal Rat, 1960 was the next year of the Metal Rat.
